New features in Update 1.12

Dive-In Improvements We've made some improvements to the Dive In feature, and moved it to be in a better place. Selecting Dive In from the Community menu will instantly try to match you with some other sack folk to play with, and if it can't find a game for you to join, it makes it easier for people to join you, give it a go! Boo-be-gone There a few things more disheartening than seeing a sad face on a level you've spent a lot of time on, especially if it's the first feedback you get. We have removed Boos from level ratings in a bid to encourage creativity in the community, and cut down on hurt feelings. If you have...

Contraption Challenge 13: Submarine

We're starting fairly simple and asking you to make a contraption that can swim underwater. It doesn't have to look like a "typical" submarine; it could be a robotic shark, an underwater car, even a scuba diving rocket cheetah - as long as it swims underwater, the more creative it is the better! Here are the requirements: * Sackboy has to be able to enter and exit the contraption out of the water. * Sackboy must control it from within the driver's seat - no remote control. * It needs to be able to travel in all directions underwater. * It should behave differently when not underwater. This could simply just be making it float on the surface so that...

LittleBigPlanet 2 launch week fun – TV ad, new trailer, out now in UK & Ireland!

Launch Trailer First of all, we’ve got a new trailer to celebrate the launch of LittleBigPlanet 2 – it’s a tribute to the history of videogaming, told from Sackboy’s own unique perspective. All the levels shown in the trailer were also created by community members GruntosUK and jackofcourse . The LittleBigMap

The LittleBigMap collates together LBP discussions and content from across the web, and plots some of the latest and best videos, pics and tweets on a handy and familiar map interface. So, at a glance you can see that thousands of people are contributing to the LBP community from all over the world – and then you can zoom in, navigate around and take a look at some of the content they’re sharing. There are some nice photos in Hawaii, for starters. :) The extra cool thing is – the LittleBigMap notices when lbp.me URLs are included in video descriptions, screenshots and tweets, and automatically pulls in stats and information about that level. It’s another way of discovering the most...
